Diane's Gourds

Uh-Oh. A new hobby has started taking over my life... decorating gourds!

These are some gourds I made in classes during the 2007 Gourd Festival held at the Welburn Gourd Farm in June.

The middle gourd is my first finished gourd. I made it in a class called "Spirit Gourds" with Kathy Riker. I loved the class but I was very tired during the festival so I didn't finish it in the class. Then at home I added the foil and was rather impatient to finish it, so my spirits are invisible.

The other two gourds I made in a most excellent class on the silk dyeing technique with Dianne Connolly. I still haven't added the embellishments to the one on the right and the one on the left is supposed to get some beads, but I really liked making these. I expect I'll be doing a lot of this in the future.
