Here are a bunch more ornaments made since the
ones on the previous page. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out how to get good
flash pictures from my new digital camera. The colors (red is the worst) are
very oversaturated with too much contrast so you don't see any shading in the
darker areas. And I didn't have time to set up a fancy photo shoot, so they're
just on the floor with the hideous carpet and wallpaper. Most of these actually
look a lot cooler than the others, but the photo doesn't show it. Several of the
ornaments that are a more uniform color were made with Luna Lights paint.

Here I just piled them on the floor for a group photo. The darker
purples don't show well at all. None of them really look so black! |
 |
The two ornaments in the upper right were made using Luna Lights
paint. They needed a second coat of paint inside, and I added some
pigment powders to them, but they didn't show up as well as I hoped.
The blue one center left and the small pink one near the middle were
also made with Luna Lights paints.
The large ornament on the right was made with the Fuchsia Luna
Lights paint, adding pigment powders to the paint right away. This
one is really beautiful; wish I had a better picture. |
 |
The ornaments on the upper row are very interesting. I mixed
various greenish powders and added some of the darker gold, red,
orange, and brownish powders for contrast. The unusual colors look
really fantastic together. The copper one in the lower right was
made with Luna Lights only, no powders. It looks really cool, almost
as if the ornament itself was made of copper. |
 |
Here are some of the green ones from another photo that shows
the colors a little better.
The two top green ones and the teal one were made
using Luna Lights as the base. The top center green one has no powders
in it (if I remember correctly). |
 |
The red and gold ornaments. The photo is disappointing because
you can't see the subtle variations in the red ornaments. I used
Luna Lights paint for a couple of the gold ones. However, I started
with the yellow and mixed in a little gold paint. Then the rest of
the colors that you can't see very well come from the polished
pigment powders. |
 |
These heart-shaped ornaments were something of a challenge to
get them completely covered with paint. I used the Luna Lights new
red paint, but it leans very heavily towards pinkish, so I ended up
using a lot of the red and red-orange powders in them; they probably
wouldn't have looked much different if I hadn't started with the
paint. But they still look great in real life. |
